St. Matthew's United Methodist Chruch

Stewardship is a vital and necessary ministry for all Christians.  St Matthew's members are expected to be good stewards of time and money.  Each member is asked to support the church with prayers, presence, gifts, and services.

Each year, the church asks you to examine your giving to the body of Christ.  The tithe is the standard of giving in the biblical tradition.  In the fall of the year, you will be given the opportunity to make an estimate of your giving for the following year.  This is done not because the church needs money but because you need to be intentional in the practice of giving.  Your tithe is an indicator of your spiritual wellness.

Beyond the tithe, you are invited to make gifts to various ministries of the local church and the connectional church (United Methodism throughout the world).  Our annual support of the missionary in Cambodia, Esther Gitobu, is an example of where members are asked to make a sacrificial gift to enable ministry.

God loves a cheerful giver!
